Leratiomyces ceres (Redlead Roundhead)


These fungi normally have red or orange caps and create purple to brown spore prints. They're very common in woodchips, but we found this single one under a tree in the grass off the trail at UBNA.


It has partial veil remnants. This sample is also poisonous. This is not a native mushroom, usually spotted in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
