Psathyrella candolleana

Psathyrella candolleana typically grows on lawns, pastures, and other grass areas. It has a proclivity to grow near recently dead/fallen hardwood trees.

The pale brownish cap grows to be about 3-11 cm in diameter and is honey yellow while the mushroom is young. There are partial veil remnants under the cap when it's young; this one did not have a veil. This fungus is edible and has medicinal properties such as inhibiting the growth of cancers, and is also antibacterial. 1
